Sappi to increase prices on LWC and MWC grades by 6-8%

Due to continuing input cost inflation and resulting insufficient profitability Sappi increases its LWC and MWC grades prices by 6-8% from January 1st 2019 for all markets. This follows previous announcements made for its woodfree coated and woodfree uncoated grades.  Sappi’s sales representatives will be in touch with their customers to agree on the specifics over the following weeks.

BillerudKorsnäs has opened one of Europe's largest and most efficient MG paper machines at Skärblacka production unit outside Norrköping in Sweden. The opening ceremony was held by BillerudKorsnäs President and CEO Petra Einarsson, retiring Governor of Östergötland County Elisabeth Nilsson, acceding Governor of Östergötland County Carl Fredrik Graf and Factory Manager of Skärblacka Production Plant Håkan Krantz. More than 500 people attended the ceremony at the Trozelli Gallery in Norrköping.

Zanders invests millions in converting power plant to gas

Zanders is sending out a clear message of commitment to its Bergisch Gladbach location: The manufacturer of high-quality specialty papers and cartonboard is converting its on-site power plant from hard coal to natural gas and is investing several million euros in modernization. The conversion is part of Zanders' future-oriented investment program for sustainable increases in efficiency.

Zanders: six new apprentices

Zanders continues to invest in its personal future and welcomes six new employees at the beginning of the new training year: two apprentices each will learn the professions of paper technologist, mechatronics engineer and machine and plant operator at Gohrsmühle mill. Zanders is offering the apprenticeship as a machine and plant operator for the first time in order to make the training offer more attractive and flexible.
