For the fourth quarter for 2018, Arctic Paper Group increased its revenue to PLN 780,7m (compared to 740,0m Q4, 2017) with an EBITDA of PLN 3,0m (33,6m). For the full year 2018, the Group reached a turnover of PLN 3158,2m (2952,8m) with an EBITDA of PLN 223,5m (244,4m).
Stora Enso starts co-determination negotiations with employees at Oulu Mill in Finland regarding a plan to convert the paper mill into packaging board production and the closure of paper machine 6 and a sheeting plant. The planned change could result in a reduction of a maximum of 400 employees at the mill. The decision on the potential conversion will be made by the Stora Enso Board of Directors during the first half of 2019 after the co-determination process has been completed.
Arctic Paper has concluded a 15-year agreement with Adven AB on sustainable energy supply to the Group's paper mill in Munkedal. The agreement ensures lower, more stable and predictable energy costs and reduces CO2-emissions.
Adven AB will construct, own and operate a boiler plant with a capacity to deliver 30 MW. The plant is expected to be put into operation in two years.

AgroPaperTM is a renewable and compostable paper designed to replace the plastic material that is used by many farmers and growers for ‘mulching’ when growing vegetables. Mulching refers to placing a material (mulch) on the ground to improve the soil around plants, prevent weeds growing and maintain the temperature of the land.
Lecta continues developing its Creaset one-side coated paper line, designed for the label and flexible packaging sector, with its new Creaset HG HWS paper for the beverage industry.
Creaset HG HWS is a high wet-strength, alkali-resistant high gloss paper. It is particularly suitable for all types of refillable containers that need to be recovered in caustic soda baths.
Fabian Langenskiöld has been appointed as new Executive Vice President Sales at Arctic Paper S.A. The appointment is a step in the continuing implementation of Arctic Paper’s new strategy and Fabian Langenskiöld will take his position as of the March 1th. He will be replacing Michal Sawka whom after a mutual agreement will be leaving Arctic Paper.
The investments of recent years have had a positive effect on both the levels of energy use and CO2 emissions at the Laakirchen paper mill. This improvement is demonstrated clearly by the Paper and Carbon Profiles, which represent the established method within the industry of showing environmental impact and provide an overview of the relevant parameters. Moreover, Laakirchen Papier AG voluntarily commissioned Quality Austria to undertake an examination of these calculations.
Feldmuehle GmbH announced on December 7, 2018 that it would concentrate on the production of Specialty Papers in the future, i.e. wet and alkali resistant Label Papers as well as Flexible Packaging Papers. In this context, the production of graphic papers was discontinued and the paper machine 2 was shut down at the end of 2018.
The Supervisory Board of Arctic Paper S.A. has decided on the December 10th to appoint Michal Jarczynski to be the CEO of the company, effective from February 1st, 2019, and has at the same time appointed him as President of the management board.
Michal Jarczynski will replace the current CEO Per Skoglund who is leaving his position on January 31th. Per Skoglund will be at the company's disposal during a transitional period.
