Stora Enso starts co-determination process regarding the possible conversion of the Oulu paper mill into packaging board mill and closure of one paper machine

Stora Enso starts co-determination negotiations with employees at Oulu Mill in Finland regarding a plan to convert the paper mill into packaging board production and the closure of paper machine 6 and a sheeting plant. The planned change could result in a reduction of a maximum of 400 employees at the mill. The decision on the potential conversion will be made by the Stora Enso Board of Directors during the first half of 2019 after the co-determination process has been completed.

Arctic Paper signs agreement on sustainable energy supply in Munkedal

Arctic Paper has concluded a 15-year agreement with Adven AB on sustainable energy supply to the Group's paper mill in Munkedal. The agreement ensures lower, more stable and predictable energy costs and reduces CO2-emissions.

Adven AB will construct, own and operate a boiler plant with a capacity to deliver 30 MW. The plant is expected to be put into operation in two years.

Moreover, Laakirchen Papier AG voluntarily commissioned Quality Austria to undertake an examination of these calculations.  

Arctic Paper S.A. appoints new CEO

The Supervisory Board of Arctic Paper S.A. has decided on the December 10th  to appoint Michal Jarczynski to be the CEO of the company, effective from February 1st, 2019, and has at the same time appointed him as President of the management board.

Michal Jarczynski will replace the current CEO Per Skoglund who is leaving his position on January 31th. Per Skoglund will be at the company's disposal during a transitional period.
