Stora Enso divests its Sachsen Mill in Germany
Stora Enso has signed an agreement to divest its Sachsen Mill located in Eilenburg, Germany, to the Swiss-based family-owned company Model Group. Sachsen Mill has an annual production capacity of 310 000 tonnes of newsprint specialty paper based on recycled paper.
Stora Enso inaugurates its renewed containerboard mill in Oulu, Finland
Stora Enso today arranged a virtual inauguration ceremony to celebrate the successful conversion of the Oulu Mill which was transformed from paper production into high-quality kraftliner production. The Prime Minister of Finland, Sanna Marin, inaugurated the mill. Oulu is Stora Enso’s second successful conversion, following Varkaus Mill, inaugurated in 2016.
Arctic Paper strengthens the sales organization
Arctic Paper consolidates the sales organizations for Scandinavia and the Baltics into a joint company, Arctic Paper ScanBaltics. Leif-Arne Karlsen, today Managing Director of the Scandinavian sales company, has been appointed Managing Director of the new company from June 1st, 2021. At the same time, Māra Savicka has been appointed Regional Manager for the Baltics States.
The change is part of an ongoing effort to consolidate and streamline the Arctic Paper sales process, while maintaining customer-friendly service.
Arctic Paper is creating a new strategic group R&D function
In order to maintain and strengthen Arctic Paper's ability to develop new innovative products that meet customer needs, the company has decided to create a new cohesive R&D function at the Swedish mill in Munkedal. Daniel Klang has been appointed as Group R&D manager.
Daniel Klang most recently came from the position as production manager at Rexcell Tissue & Airlaid in Skåpafors and has previous experience from roles as sales and marketing manager at Ahlstrom-Munksjö in Billingsfors.

Lecta Reduces Energy Consumption at Its Mills by 60% with New Lighting
In keeping with its environmental objective of optimizing energy consumption.
In accordance with its firm environmental commitment in carrying out its manufacturing operations, Lecta has updated the lighting installations at its Zaragoza, Sant Joan les Fonts and Motril mills in Spain. This energy efficiency project carried out in cooperation with Spanish energy and renewables company Acciona entailed substituting all the lighting at plant facilities, replacing conventional lighting with new LED installations.
