Papierfabrik Palm: Voith supplies calender rolls with heating for PM 7 at King’s Lynn

Ten years ago Papierfabrik Palm put the PM 7 supplied by Voith into service at its King’s Lynn facility in the UK. Voith has now been engaged to supply new calender rolls with heating system for the newsprint paper machine. The rolls are scheduled for completion by the end of the year.

Rolls cast at the Hüttenwerke Königsbronn foundry

The scope of the order consists of identical calender rolls and a new heating system. The calender rolls are being cast at Hüttenwerke Königsbronn in the Heidenheim district, a foundry that can look back on a 650-year history.

New PMP Intelli-Nip® Shoe Press has been successfully started up in Smurfit Kappa Morava Paper

On August 2018, PMP (Paper Machinery Producer) has signed a contract for a press part rebuild of PM#2 in Smurfit Kappa Morava Paper, Czech Republic. On September 2019, a new core technological component, PMP Intelli-Nip® Shoe Press has been launched. This last 2 years have been very productive of projects for press part modernization or new press.

New sheeting line starts up at Metsä Board’s Äänekoski mill in Finland

Metsä Board, part of Metsä Group, has started a new paperboard sheeting line at its Äänekoski mill in Finland. The investment was earlier announced in a press release on 15 November 2018. The new line will increase the annual capacity of the sheeting plant by 35,000 tonnes to a total of 120,000 tonnes. The value of the investment was EUR 11 million. The new sheeting line will enable quicker deliveries to Metsä Board customers.

Toscotec to rebuild the dryer section of PM1 at Gulf Paper Manufacturing on a turnkey basis

Gulf Paper Manufacturing selected Toscotec for the rebuild of the dryer section of its PM1 at Mina Abdullah paper mill, Kuwait. The paper machine has a reel trim of 2,550 mm and produces fluting, test liner and white top grades from 100 to 200 gsm using 100% recycled fibres. Start-up is planned for the last quarter of 2019.
