HEINZEL GROUP successfully starts up paper machine converted by ANDRITZ at Steyrermühl, Austria

International technology group ANDRITZ has completed the conversion of a graphic paper machine at HEINZEL GROUP’s Steyrermühl mill in Austria.

After a successful start-up, the machine is now producing kraft papers for packaging which are marketed under HEINZEL GROUP’s well-established Starkraft brand. This enables Heinzel Pöls/Starkraft to take a major step forward in sustainable paper production and global expansion.

Voith and Trützschler Nonwovens supply another carded/pulp (CP) system for EcoWipes’ Tricell nonwoven

To further drive the company's growth, the Polish nonwovens manufacturer EcoWipes has commissioned Voith and Trützschler Nonwovens with the delivery of a second carded/pulp (CP) system at the Nowy Dwor site in Poland. The first CP line, which was also supplied by Voith and Trützschler Nonwovens, has been a great success thanks to the increasing demand for environmentally friendly hygiene wipes on the international markets. With the help of the CP technology, a cost-effective, wet-laid pulp layer can be combined with a carded nonwoven layer made of cellulose fibers.

Successful conversion and start-up of PM 5 at Spanish paper manufacturer Papresa

In March 2021, Papresa, the leading southern European manufacturer of newsprint, commissioned Voith with the resource-efficient grade conversion of PM 5 from newsprint to testliner and corrugating medium at its Rentería mill in Spain. In March 2022, one year after the order was placed, the PM 5 successfully went into operation and will henceforth enable significantly more efficient and sustainable production of packaging papers. The production of newsprint will be maintained on the mill’s PM 6 machine.

Successful start-up of complete paper production line supplied by Voith to Green Bay Packaging in the U.S.

On March 11, 2021, Green Bay Packaging started operating its new PM4 production line. The facility located near the headquarters of the family-owned company in Green Bay, Wisconsin is a groundbreaking project in several respects. The testliner machine is the first new paper mill built in Wisconsin in over 30 years, creating numerous new jobs in the Lake Michigan region. Moreover, it is the first time in the history of the U.S. that a single company was awarded the contract to supply a complete production line for the paper industry: Voith.
