Voith successfully commissions its first virtual reality training system worldwide at LEIPA with OnCall.Video

LEIPA is the world’s first paper mill to employ virtual reality (VR) from Voith as a modern and immersive training method. At the Schwedt location, the company trains its employees extremely effectively using the VR system. To perform the installation in spite of the contact restrictions imposed as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, Voith and LEIPA drew on a new tool for remote video support: OnCall.Video. LEIPA has been using this audiovisual communication system with wireless data glasses since January 2020.

Valmet strengthens its business by acquiring PMP Group, a provider of technologies and services for the paper industry

Valmet has on September 11, 2020 entered into an agreement to acquire PMP Group in Poland. The enterprise value of the acquisition is approximately EUR 64 million, plus a conditional and capped earn-out component. The acquisition is estimated to be completed on October 1, 2020 at the earliest.

ANDRITZ to supply sixth P-RC APMP system to Sun Paper, China

International technology Group ANDRITZ has received an order from Guangxi Sun Paper Co. Ltd., part of the Sun Paper Group, to supply a chemi-thermomechanical pulping system for its new mill in Beihai, Guangxi, China.

Start-up is scheduled for autumn 2021.

This will be the sixth P-RC APMP (Pre-Conditioning Refiner Chemical Alkaline Peroxide Mechanical Pulp) line from ANDRITZ for Sun Paper and part of the new greenfield paper mill in Beihai. The new fiber line will process eucalyptus wood chips as raw material and features a capacity of 600 admt/d.

Toscotec’s tissue line exceeds production target at EuroVast Group

Italian tissue manufacturer EuroVast fired up a new MODULO-PLUS tissue machine supplied by Toscotec at its Cartiera della Basilica paper mill in Villa Basilica, Lucca, Italy. PM5 is running efficiently at the speed of 1,600 m/min and since its start-up in February, it has exceeded the project’s production targets with excellent results in energy consumption
