Toscotec’s rebuild achieves production increase at Skjern Paper, Denmark

Skjern Paper is Denmark’s only paper mill. Founded in 1965, it is situated in Skjern, West Jutland. Since 2005, the ownership majority has been held by Buur Invest A/S, a Danish privately-owned investment company. The mill’s current annual capacity is 75,000 tonnes, including a range of products - coreboard, grey and blueliner, greyboard and sheets - produced from 100% recycled fibres. Skjern Paper is strongly export-oriented, with over 90% of its production sold to packaging and paper businesses in Europe. 

Valmet to supply a fine paper making line to Asia Symbol XinHui in China

Valmet will supply a fine paper making line with stock preparation and an extensive scope of automation to Asia Symbol (Guangdong) Paper in XinHui, China. The new high-capacity fine paper making line will be designed to produce top-quality woodfree uncoated paper (WFU) grades. The start-up of PM 13 is scheduled for 2022.

The order is included in Valmet's orders received of the third quarter 2020. The value of the order will not be disclosed. The total value of an order of this type and delivery scope is typically around EUR 80-100 million.

ANDRITZ to supply non-condensable gases (NCG) incineration system for Bracell’s new pulp mill in Brazil

International technology Group ANDRITZ has received an order from Bracell to supply the non-condensable gases (NCG) incineration system on EPCC basis for Bracell’s pulp mill Project “STAR” in Lençóis Paulista, in the state of São Paulo, Brazil.

The incineration system supplied by ANDRITZ enables safe and environmentally friendly treatment of all types of diluted or concentrated malodorous and toxic gases, thus meeting the strictest environmental and social requirements. The gases are eliminated by quench-type incinerators with flue gas scrubbers.

Voith installs MasterJet Pro headbox for Ilim Group in Russia with support from OnCall.Video

The Ilim Group in Russia had been planning for a long time to upgrade the PM 4 at its plant in Koryazhma by adding a new MasterJet Pro headbox. However, due to pandemic-related travel bans the installation team from Heidenheim was not able to get to the site by the scheduled date. Nevertheless, a clever solution was found: Using the remote video support tool OnCall.Video, the Russian team on site was able to access Voith expertise in Heidenheim in real time.

Toscotec exceeds performance goal on wet end rebuild at Papeterie Le Bourray

In June 2020, Toscotec successfully rebuilt the approach flow and wet end of PM4 at Papeterie Le Bourray in Saint-Mars-la-Brière, France. After two months of stable production, PM4 exceeded the performance targets relating to the improvement of sheet formation quality and cross direction basis weight profile. After the rebuild, the operating speed of PM4 increased by up to 10%.

Voith successfully executes start-up of five BlueLine OCC stock preparation lines for Nine Dragons Paper

In early 2017, Voith received an order for six BlueLine OCC stock preparation lines from Nine Dragons, the largest manufacturer of packaging paper in Asia. With the recently commissioned PM 41 at the customer’s Hebei site, five Voith BlueLine OCC lines, each with a production capacity of 2,000 tons per day, have now been successfully launched. The handover of the sixth line is planned for 2022.

Toscotec to deliver a Steel Yankee Dryer to C. Y. P. Del R. S.A., Colombia

Toscotec will supply a second-generation TT SYD Steel Yankee Dryer to the Colombian tissue manufacturer Cartones Y Papeles Del Risaralda. The new TT SYD will replace a cast iron Yankee on PM1 at its Risaralda mill in Western Colombia.

Toscotec’s Steel Yankee dryer will increase PM1’s production capacity, while reducing its overall specific consumptions through a substantial reduction of the hoods’ drying contribution.
