With a top score of 82/100 Metsä Board is among the highest 1% of companies assessed in the in the manufacture of corrugated paper and paperboard and containers of paper and paperboard industries.

Kemira raises its climate ambition to carbon neutrality by 2045

Kemira joins the growing ranks of global companies aiming for carbon neutrality and supporting the Paris Agreement.

Kemira has set a target of 30% reduction in combined so-called Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 2030, from the 2018 baseline of 0.93 MTCO2e. The long-term ambition is to be carbon neutral across the whole company by 2045 for combined scope 1 and 2 emissions.

Metsä Board, the leading European producer of premium fresh fibre paperboards and part of Metsä Group, has had its emissions reduction targets approved by the Science Based Targets initiative as being consistent with the levels required to meet the goals of the Paris Agreement. The targets, covering greenhouse gas emissions from Metsä Board’s operations (Scopes 1 and 2), are in line with reductions required to limit global warming to 1.5°C.

4evergreen: a unique industry alliance to boost the contribution of fibre-based packaging in a circular economy

Cepi, the European association representing the paper industry, announced today a new alliance called 4evergreen. The aim of the alliance is to boost the contribution of fibre-based packaging in a circular and sustainable economy that minimises climate and environmental impact. 

The alliance will increase awareness about the benefits of fibre-based packaging materials, advocate for EU legislation supporting product design for recyclability and call for the development of optimised collection systems and appropriate recycling infrastructures.
