Metsä Board features its sustainable offering at FEFCO

Metsä Board, the leading European producer of premium fresh fibre paperboards and part of Metsä Group, will be presenting its sustainable and high-quality white kraftliners at the FEFCO Technical Seminar 2019.

Reducing carbon footprint, ensuring food safety and full transparency of origin are key considerations for the packaging industry. Metsä Board’s recently published sustainability targets for 2030 including a commitment to achieve fossil free mills by 2030 with zero fossil CO2 emissions. The target setting is the most ambitious in the industry.

The main raw material in Metsä Board's paperboard production is renewable and 100% traceable wood sourced from sustainably managed Northern European forests.

All Metsä Board’s white kraftliners are safe for direct food contact, manufactured from fresh fibres and grown in sustainably managed northern forests. They offer excellent consistency and performance, and their light weight allows for the specification of a lower weight liner, without the loss of strength, which helps reduce the carbon footprint in the whole chain,” says Veijo Korkalainen, VP Sales WKL from Metsä Board.

Metsä Board’s team will be on hand at FEFCO Technical Seminar to discuss sustainability related issues and to give advice on product performance.
