“Our Delicitera® papers have a broad array of attributes that make our products not just unique, but incredibly innovative for the confectionary market,” said Dean Dalebroux, Market Manager for the Food Packaging Solutions Business Unit of Ahlstrom-Munksjö. “In addition to characteristics such as smoothness for uniform lamination, slip for ease of processing, excellent printability, these products also feature exceptional release properties as well as transparency for excellent visibility of the confectionary product.”

“Brand owners and consumers are continuing to look for the additional steps they can take towards providing enhanced sustainable solutions,” Dalebroux explained. “Our Cristal™ transparent papers can replace films used in window applications for bags and other food containers, and confectionary wraps have the ability to replace traditional plastic films. It is important for consumers to consider these alternatives when they see their favorite candies wrapped in a different, more eco-friendly material.”

“When there is a preference to have grease-proof products without the use of fluorochemicals, Ahlstrom-Munksjö has the unique capability of manufacturing them,” said Dalebroux. “Increasingly, consumers are looking for a fluorochemical-free option, and they still need the product to meet FDA and BfR requirements for food contact and be cost-effective and eco-friendly. We are uniquely situated to provide that option, as we have been manufacturing grease-resistant papers since the 1930s, well before the creation of fluorochemistry.”
“Delicitera® confectionary papers are offered free of fluorochemicals, yet still provide the grease resistance needed for many types of sweets and snacks,” said Corey Bishop, Product Development Manager. “The products are designed specifically for the end-use, including heat retention properties and excellent oil and water holdout. Yet they still feature additional sustainability features being recyclable and repulpable for less of an impact at end of life as compared to plastic or film.”
